FINEAMIN 92 is an advanced multipurpose cooling water treatment chemical for control of corrosion and fouling in open recirculating systems. The additive is an all-in-one liquid product with zinc-based chemistry.

This specially developed formulation prevents the corrosion of steel and copper, protects the surfaces, cleans and keep them clean, reducing expensive shut down periods and maintenance costs.

FINEAMIN 92 offers a very efficient inhibition of corrosion for mild steel and copper (and copper alloys) materials and it should be used in industrial cooling waters with minimal water disposal problems.

The main components are polycarboxilic acid, phosphonic acid and zinc. The phosphonic acid builds a protective layer (membrane inhibition) in combination with the action of the zinc ion. Moreover, the high dispersant capacity of the phosphonic and carboxylic acids avoids corrosion by preventing deposit formation on the surfaces.

The scale formation is prevented by TRESHOLD effect. The crystal germ growth is blocked, even in sub-stochiometric concentrations, and the amorphous precipitants can be removed from the system by normal blowdown.

The normal dosing rate for FINEAMIN 92 should be within a range of 35 – 60 ppm in the recirculating water. However, this may vary depending of the water analysis and the following factors: concentration ratio, hardness, alkalinity, pH, holding time index, temperature, TDS, SS etc.

Rapid protection against corrosion is achieved by pre-treating the system with between three and five times the normal maintenance dosage for seven to ten days. The maintenance dosage is then applied to the recirculating water at all times.
